Semantic Implications of Language Learning Patterns in the Family

The present research is conducted with the aim of studying semantic implications of language learning patterns among families in Ilam city. Considering the constructed nature of the studied phenomenon, the used paradigm is interpretation with qualitative approach and phenomenological method. The target population includes families with children in Ilam city in 2024. Data collection has applied depth interview until saturation with 25 parents. Clark and Brown model has been utilized to analyze the obtained information. The continuous presence of the researcher in the research field and the detailed extraction of interviews along with the use of the opinions of evaluators have confirmed this study. After coding, 45 related concepts (initial codes) were extracted, categorized and interpreted in 21 sub – themes and 12 main themes. Results show that preference for the mother tongue is still the top criteria, indicating the importance of the local language as an ethnic identifier. Also the standard language is important in its place, which indicates the importance of language as a national identifier.
