Abstract:   (20 Views)
The present research aimed to explore the lived experiences of women engaged in home-based businesses. This study employed a qualitative approach and a phenomenological method. The population of this research included all women with home-based businesses in the city of Isfahan. The sample was selected non-randomly and purposefully. Since the data reached saturation after the sixteenth participant was interviewed, the study sample consisted of 16 individuals. Data analysis was performed using the 7-step Colaizzi method. Results obtained from the interview analyses revealed 8 main themes and 31 sub-themes in the study. The principal themes were factors influencing occupational choice, occupational motivations, occupational challenges and barriers, occupational outlook, emotional-emotional dimensions of occupation, behaviors promoting occupation, unprofessional behaviors, and achievements resulting from engagement in home-based businesses. Findings indicated that women's employment in home-based businesses is one of the effective ways for their personal growth and the social and economic development of societies, which, despite being accessible, faces numerous barriers. To achieve success in such occupations, women require skill development, professional roadmap planning, and efforts to overcome obstacles on their path to progress.
